Jalyn Junior School was established as a Kindergarten in May 2000 in a small, rented house in Kasarani. This was as a result of the growing population in Kasarani region. We started with only 1 student at the moment and by the end of the term we had 11 children. Towards the end of the year, we had 20 children in number. The quality of the education provided at The Jalyn Junior Kindergarten and the steady rise of the children enrolling at the Kindergarten opened an opportunity to start a primary school. This is how the Jalyn Junior Primary School was started in the year 2003. The first class occupied a small room which served as an office for the Kindergarten then.

We moved to the new premises in 2007 with the new facilities including the new classrooms block, Kindergarten block, computer lab, library, dormitories, dining hall and kitchen. In the year 2010, we sat for our very first Kenya Certificate of Primary Education and we have registered tremendous results since. In 2014 we started offering boarding facilities for pupils in standard 4 and above.

At Jalyn we aim at creating a friendly environment within which children can learn with ease. The relationship between pupils and teachers at Jalyn is based on the principle of respect.

The school is run by an Academic Director Mrs. Angela Ndereba who holds an M.B.A. (HR) degree from Kenyatta University, Higher Diploma in Entrepreneurship, and a Diploma in Education. She has extensive knowledge and experience in the education sector, and is also a trained, practicing Biblical Counsellor. Angela has taught CRE and Kiswahili in leading schools for 18 years and lectured in Entrepreneurship for many years in tertiary institutions.
