The Kindergarten Department caters for children aged between 2 and 6 years. At the initial stage, emphasis is placed on the development of personal, social and emotional skills, as well as language advancement. The Jalyn Junior Kindergarten offers a friendly learning environment steered by well qualified teachers and assistants to provide a rich blend of academic and co-curricular activities.
Our goal is to offer children a sound early childhood education. The Kindergarten has its own purpose-built play area, where there is a variety of equipment suitable for their physical and mental development because we understand that play is an integral role for development of young children.
The small Grades allow qualified teachers to address the unique needs of each child. In many ways, the Jalyn Junior Kindergarten is a home away from home, ensuring plenty of smiling faces and happy voices each day!
We have expanded the kindergarten by adding more classrooms, introducing a computer lab and development of an administration block to cater for the growth.
We have different kindergarten levels as listed below;
- Baby Class Reception - between 2 - 3 years
- Baby Class - between 3 - 4 years
- PP1 - between 4 - 5 years
- PP2 - between 5 - 6 years who are ready to graduate to class 1
Promotion at the kindergarten levels depends purely on merit basis.

We undertake various tests and Assessments per term from different professional bodies which are recognized by the Kenyan government such as;

- Kindergarten Headmistress Association (KHA)
- District Centers for Early Childhood Education (DICECE)
